C HAPTER 5 F UNCTIONS CONNECTED TO THE PROVISION OF CARE [Research, training and support sections moved to Chapter 1B] 26 Compulsory purchase (1) The Scottish Ministers or a care board may compulsorily acquire land that they require for the purpose of exercising a relevant function. (2) A compulsory acquisition by a care board under subsection (1) must be authorised by the Scottish Ministers. (3) Land may not be compulsorily acquired by virtue of subsection (1) if it is held or used by a Minister of the Crown or a department of the Government of the United Kingdom.
