In my constituency, a house builder states that he cannot get an electricity connection for a large development of affordable and mid-market-rent houses because of green tape requiring a new heat pump and electric vehicle charging points, which would lead to the electricity demand tripling.
Transport is currently the highest-emitting sector in Scotland. The latest figure of 26 per cent is from 2020, which encompasses the lockdown, while pre-Covid the figure was 36 per cent.
A whistleblower might well be what is required. By getting information from those organisations, we will get a better flavour of how the process is working.
