To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will make representations to Her Majesty's Government regarding the impact which the Department of Social Security's decision to pay benefits by automated credit transfer from 2003 will have on the viability of many sub Post Offices in Scotland, particularly in rural areas.
If we accept that about 85 per cent of people will be treated at the ACAD unit, then I am concerned about visitors as well as patients. We all know that visitors play a vital part in the recovery process.
To the extentthat its activities are likely to affect protected sites or species, sportscotlandis required to act in a manner consistent with the EU Birds and Habitats Directives.
