As to how that is addressed, one option would be to allow the Scottish child payment to taper away in a similar way to universal credit, but above the point at which universal credit stops.
In circumstances where a backdated CSP award would lead to an overpayment of Universal Credit, the Scottish Government notes that a carer will be better off overall.
