S6M-12524: Clare Adamson: No Falls Week 2024 - That the Parliament recognises that 13 to 17 May 2024 marks No Falls Week; considers that this week is an opportunity to recognise the powerful campaign dedicated to promoting safe working at height, providing an opportunity for organisations in all sectors to focus on working at height safety; notes that the latest figures from the Health and Safety Executive show that 40 people lost their lives due to a fall from height in Great Britain in 2022-23, that falls from height were responsible for 30% of all workplace deaths, and that, it understands, every year thousands of non-fatal falls take place, estimated at as many as 100 every day; understands that the No Falls Foundation has produced a toolkit with resources and guidelines to assist organisations in planning and implementing activities during No Falls Week, and notes the calls encouraging employers not only to contribute to the broader safety narrative, but also to demonstrate their dedication to the wellbeing of their employees.

The most obvious one of these is what is referred to as the Rangers inquiry; examining the prosecution and settlement of persons involved in the liquidation of Rangers FC. I suspect that any such inquiry will require considerable time and effort to analyse the complexities of a company administration, solvency and liquidation.

We are continuing investment in health and social care services including, as part of the 2025-26 Budget: • Resource funding for health and social care has more than doubled since 2006-07 (up 126.7% cash; 41.7% real terms). • NHS Boards’ baseline funding has increased by over 120% in cash terms and 37% in real terms in the same timeframe. • Over £16.2 billion investment in our NHS Boards – representing a 3% cash uplift and a real terms increase on their baseline funding (0.6%). • £10.5 million to build GP capacity to intervene earlier and prevent illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease The SRF will make better use of the resources we already have and will not rely on new funding.

Disability Assistance for Older People Scotland Regulations 2024 scrutiny

Draft regulation 8 covers the instance where an individual has had a previous award of AA or PADP that ended within 2 years of a new application being made. 13. If the new application is for the same condition as the previous award, or a related condition that has developed from it, then the individual is immediately considered eligible for assistance rather than having to wait for 26 weeks, as the previous award shows that there is a long term element to their needs.
