Supported by: Ash Regan* Other new and altered motions and amendments *S6M-01859 Kaukab Stewart: Welcoming the 16th UN Climate Change Conference of Youth to Glasgow—That the Parliament welcomes the UN Climate Change Conference of Youth (COY) to Glasgow from 28 to 31 October 2021; understands that the COY serves as a space for capacity building and policy training, in order to prepare young people for their participation at the UN's Conference of the Parties (COP); notes that this year, which is its 16th year, COY16 is being hosted by the University of Strathclyde; understands that hundreds of delegates from 120 countries have travelled to Glasgow Kelvin to participate; further understands that one of the major outputs of COY16 is the policy document, crafted by youth voices globally, the Global Youth Statement, which will be forwarded during the UN climate negotiations at COP26; celebrates what it sees as the activism of young people across the globe, which has spurred on, challenged and inspired governments the world over, and wishes all involved with COY16 every success for this event and their subsequent contributions to COP26.
