Female Genital Mutilation (Protection and Guidance) (Scotland) Bill - How the penalties in the Bill compare to other legislation

For a conviction on indictment the proposed penalty is a fine (with no maximum limit) and/or imprisonment for up to five years (s.5N(7)(b)). This is the same as the approach taken for NHOs and domestic abuse interdicts.
