Discussions regarding the 2025-26 budget remain ongoing, and as such we are unable to provide any details regarding the Place Based Investment Programme (PBIP) or other regeneration capital funding programmes for 2025-26.
The Fraser of Allander Institute has stated that it was “near-impossible” for it to calculate the funding position ahead of the 2025-26 budget due to “the lack of a medium-term financial strategy”.
We will invest an additional £4 million in 2025-26 in helping local authorities, front-line services and relevant partners prepare for the new prevention duties and respond to the housing emergency by preventing homelessness before it occurs.
Research undertaken by the Scottish Parliament information centre shows that the percentage of local government allocation as a percentage of total Scottish Government spending dropped from 29 per cent in 2014-15 to 23 per cent in 2023-24 and, more recently, to 21.4 per cent in the latest Scottish budget for 2025-26....
