For example, article 7(5) of the order refers to article 7(4)(a)(ii), which says that, for a vacancy that arises "before the specified day","In making appointments to the JPAC, the sheriff principal … shall bring the existence of a vacancy to the attention of … all full justices appointed for a commission area any part of which falls within the sheriffdom".Article 7(5) makes it clear that "full justices" are those who have been on the court rota in the preceding year.
