To ask the Scottish Executive what percentage of disposed car tyres are disposed of in landfill sites. Information on the website of the Used Tyre Working Group (available at www.tyredisposal.co.uk) indicates that in the UK, in 1999, about 28% of used tyres were disposed of in landfill sites.
