This work includes publicising the network of footpaths in each area, including the Southern Upland Way, and the use of websites such as VisitScotland’s “Walking Wild” website.
They were unaware of that because the order was buried deeply on the Scottish Executive website. It did not even come before the Parliament for information.
I believe that amendments 148 and 154, which are linked, offer the most suitable way in which to deal with the issue. They transfer to the code the questions of what crops are and how responsible access may be exercised in relation to them.
The Inspectorate’s report has been published today and is available on the Scottish Executive’s website. www.scotland.gov.uk. The report makes 12 recommendations, all of which I have accepted.
