The total rateable value lost to revaluation appeals following the 2000 Revaluation is shown in the table, at both Scotland and local authority level. The losses are also expressed as a percentage of the total rateable value at 1 April 2000.
By flagging that up, I am speaking against a view that I have expressed and the Law Society's view; I am simply saying that the issue needs to be considered.
I have worked in 80 or 90 countries and lived on five continents, and I have never come across a country to which more good will was expressed than Scotland. That good will must be captured.
