Following a previous evidence session on 23 May 2017, the Committee invited the Scottish Ambulance Service for an update session. This update session took place on 26 February 2019.
Further to the evidence session with the Scottish Ambulance Service on 26 February 2019, the Committee issued a letter to the Chief Executive of the Scottish Ambulance Service following up on a number of issues raised at the meeting including:
New triage system and response times
Classification of 999 calls
Public engagement
Response times in rural areas
Police Scotland- escorting patients to hospital
Number of inappropriate calls
Staffing- bullying and staff tunover
Sickness Levels
Primary Care- Specialist paramedics assisting GPs out of hours
Financial sustainability and performance
The Committee received a response from the Chief Executive on 16 April 2019.
