RSPB Scotland welcomed the species at risk initiative but said “we have a long way to go” and emphasised the importance of species recovery in conjunction with 26 ecosystem-wide restoration work. NFUS supported a review of species licensing and noted a lack of tools for managing “conflict species”, arguing this can negatively impact biodiversity.
