The United Kingdom Climate Change Committee has said that nearly half of the emissions reductions in Scotland by 2035 will come from cutting livestock numbers by 26 per cent. We are already seeing the impact of such measures and that direction of travel with the closure of the Scotbeef abattoir in Inverurie, which is costing 90 jobs.
