The Committee undertook the following engagement activities as part of its inquiry:
Monday 10 November 2025 - Visit to Blairgowrie
Meetings were held at Wisecraft and the Blairgowrie and Rattray Initiative, with an additional visit to the Rattray Community Garden.
The Committee further notes the Commissioner’s findings that the advice given to Jackson Carlaw MSP referred only to him being convener of the CPG and not to his overseas visit and concurs with the Commissioner’s view that it is “unlikely that he [Jackson Carlaw] intentionally withheld information about the overseas visit in an attempt to hide this information”.
The development of these portfolio templates asked for additional information, this year, on how the analysis has impacted budget Decisions alongside how changes to spending, compared to last year, have affected equality and fairer Scotland issues.
The problem is that we are unable to compare that. I have thought about that, and the difficulty is that we have not really done a similar piece of work without a leaflet, so it is very hard to work out which contributors to the inquiry contributed as a result of the leaflet.
