I have taken certain steps to ensure that the office is in a position to deal with any sudden peaks in demand, a member of staff leaving or falling sick.As members will see from my annual report, last January, when one of the complaints investigators left, I appointed three part-time sessional case workers on a temporary and ad hoc basis. That meant that we could keep on top of the work load and not let a backlog build up.
