Report on the Legislative Consent Memorandum on the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill - Child employment
The amendments will make changes to Part III of the Children and Young Persons (Scotland) Act 1937 (“the 1937 Act”), specifically by inserting new sections 28 and 28A and consequential amendments to sections 31, 35, 36, 37, 38 and 110(1) of that Act, regulating children’s employment in Scotland, replacing current provisions for byelaws and child employment permits, and conferring instead new regulation-making powers on the Scottish Ministers in respect of these matters.
