In many cases, as I have said, the effects on small towns can be disastrous. The Bathgate and Edinburgh sites should both continue, just as the East Kilbride and Glasgow sites should both continue, as should all the other smaller sites.

In the meantime, I thought that your committee might find it useful to know that the Scottish Government’s view is that the Visitor Levy (Amendment) (Scotland) Bill, as introduced, does not contain any provision that, under the 1998 Act, would mean it required a super-majority to pass.
This includes establishing working groups to take forward the consideration of the approach to governance and to future national information and engagement on car use reduction.
