The Scottish Government is also conscious of the close proximity of the 7 May 2026 Scottish Parliament election, which will see the Scottish Parliament move to pre-election recess on 26 March. It is highly likely that the Bill will be amended in the period in which the Parliament is not sitting and full consideration of legislative consent for the Bill will be for the new Scottish Parliament.
