Whilst there is no formal process set out for how the devolved administrations and legislatures might be involved in the future relationship negotiations, it is helpful to look at relevant policy documents published by the UK and Scottish Governments.
In the new policy paper on devolution in Northern Ireland, New Decade New Approach published in January 2020, the UK Government has committed to "to consulting a restored [Northern Ireland] Executive along with the other devolved administrations on our wider trade policy"1UK Government.
