(S6O-04751) The commitment to a further three-year phase of the cashback for communities programme was included in the programme for government for 2025-26. To support programme delivery, up to £26 million will be made available, which is an increase of £6 million from the current phase.

As noted above, concerns were raised by witnesses regarding a lack of clarity and transparency about where some of the figures in the Scottish Budget have been arrived at and if the funding announced is all ‘new money’.
Would the minister like to say how soon “As soon as practicable” is? Is that not just the latest attempt to kick difficult cans down the road as the Government glosses over the legitimate fears of Scottish business about his independence plans?
