Rural Affairs and Islands Committee consideration
The Committee took evidence on the draft regulations from the Minister for Agriculture and Connectivity and Scottish Government officials at its meeting on 26 November 2025.

Membership changes

Use of cleaner fish (recommendations 26 and 28)
So called ‘cleaner fish’, such as lumpfish and wrasse, are natural sea lice predators and have been increasingly used in salmon farming as an alternative method of controlling sea lice to chemicals.
Budget Scrutiny
The Committee took evidence on the 2023-24 Budget from the Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Housing and Local Government on 19 January 2023.
