It calls for the establishment and ownership of a medical manufacturing organisation in Scotland to provide the manufacturing of drugs that are out of patent and to develop and research new drugs, in line with the needs of the Scottish population.
I therefore call on the member to get on the phone to his Westminster colleagues also to ensure that the UK Government opts in to the new Europol regulation so that Police Scotland continues to have access to that key resource in tackling cybercrime.
The committee’s view is that the revised format for First Minister’s question time is an improvement on the previous arrangements, and we believe that there is cross-party support for amending standing orders to allow the new format to continue in the future.
Does she agree that the sooner minimum unit pricing clears the courts and is implemented the better? Although I am pleased that no new legislation is being considered at this time, does she also agree that the effectiveness of existing legislation—for example, to restrict the overprovision of alcohol-selling outlets—should be reviewed?
That is why a full review and a stakeholder consultation is necessary, but I assure the member that that work will take place in the first year of the new session of Parliament.

I last met with Director-General Tony Hall on 23 February, where I welcomed the BBC’s plans to launch a new Scottish channel, increase funding and create 80 new journalism jobs, as a step in the right direction.
