The petitioners have said that they are keen to provide a written response in the new year, so I think that we should wait until they do that and then take it from there.
Since reform, there have been no compulsory redundancies and no fire stations have closed. In fact, over the past year, 100 new firefighters have been recruited.
The committee is going to look at the way in which we handle petitions, given the number of new members. More experienced members may like to be involved in that discussion.
