The Scottish Government provided Bòrd na Gàidhlig with a further £510k to support the Gaelic Officers’ Scheme in 2025-26. This allocation of £510k was part of a £5.7m uplift for Gaelic which was included in the Scottish Government’s budget for 25-26.

The English Private Landlord Survey 2021 found that 44% of landlords were unwilling to let to tenants on either housing support or Universal Credit. This can severely restrict the ability of a person on a low income to live in a decent home.
