The Committee asks the Scottish Government how it can clarify the route the Accountant of Court should take when referring a solicitor to their professional body as set out under their powers at section 38(4) of the Bill.
Some specific policies have been successful at reducing harmful behaviours. Smoking cessation services may have been successful: the percentage of adults smoking in Scotland fell from 25% to 17% between 2009 and 2019, although the gap in smoking prevalence between the most and least deprived areas grew between 2017 and 2019 to 26%.2Scottish Government. It also recommended that:
a clear framework be put in place to ensure that the control and processing of data collected as a result of electronic monitoring is appropriate and that such data is only used for the purpose for which it was intended.
