I was able to see at first hand, when I visited the site, the investment that has been made there and the opportunities that will be realised on the back of that.

I recently visited the Esk district salmon fishery board in Brechin to hear about the work that it does. I was taken to the site of the Pow Burn project, in which the board is working with SEPA to change the morphology of the burn and look at the impact that that has made.
The main line was also affected by cable thefts on a disused branch line in the Fife area. We guarded that site in the short term, and we have just signed off infrastructure changes that will insulate the signalling system between the disused freight branch and the main line.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether Scottish Planning Policy relating to Sites of Special Scientific Interest applies to sites notified under the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 but not subsequently renotified.
No restoration orders have been made by the courts in relation to Sites of Special Scientific Interest or Natura 2000 sites under section 40 of the Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004.
I have a copy of his press release, in which he calls for Bannockburn to be“the focal-point for Homecoming in 2014.”Scotland’s first homecoming year was a great success. It attracted 95,000 additional visitors and generated £53.7 million in additional tourism revenue for Scotland.
