I want to tell the committee about the strong feelings on the issue in my constituency. Last week, I visited the chief executive of Fife Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, Mr John Connaghan.
However, some issues are rather more complicated, such as the dispute between mobile and static gear operators in the Torridon area, which I heard about when I visited that part of Scotland a few months ago.
Some of us campaigned on that issue, and the Scottish people expect the committees to visit them where reasonable. The case for that is strong, and there is consensus across the parties on it.

The matter is still very much within our remit and we should examine it.I strongly agree with Dennis Caravan's suggestion that we should consult other countries, in particular the accession countries—one of which I visited last weekend. It is very important that they be consulted.
I am thinking of sub-Saharan Africa, India, Australia and New Zealand. An enormous number of visits are made to the Parliament by parliamentarians from those countries.
