It calls on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to clarify how sites that have been identified as areas of national scenic value can then be considered as suitable locations for the building of crematoria and other developments; whether allowing applications under the planning system to build crematoria and other developments runs contrary to the reasons for sites being designated as such; and whether the promotion and protection of our natural heritage should merit the conducting of a full and robust environmental impact assessment for every planning application.I welcome Christine Grahame, who is a frequent visitor to our committee.
