In any further talks that take place, will the minister bear in mind the fact that the Ratho adventure centre is a national resource of great significance? It is an unusual place with exceptional facilities. I am well aware of the points that Lord James Douglas-Hamilton makes and have no problem with him reiterating them for the benefit of the chamber.

I read the Procedures Committee's report on the subject, which made it clear that it did not expect the manuscript amendment process to be used as a matter of routine. It is an exceptional process and should be used when last-minute technical changes have to be made to a bill.
