To ask the Scottish Government, further to its news release of 6 June 2016, Women urged to go for smear test, what recent assessment it has made of the barriers that might deter women from attending cervical screening. The Scottish Government commissioned NHS Health Scotland to undertake research with women into the reasons for non-uptake of the screening invitation at the end of 2015.

Supported by: Peter Chapman*, Finlay Carson*, Miles Briggs*, Alexander Stewart*, Richard Lyle*, Jamie Greene* *S5M-21247 Liam McArthur: Robert Gordon University Mobile Art School Visits Orkney—That the Parliament recognises that Robert Gordon University’s mobile art school will visit Orkney from 16 to 20 March 2020; understands that the initiative has been organised by the University’s art institution, Gray’s School of Art, to provide pupils with an opportunity to discover the range of possibilities that exist in the creative industries; notes that it will visit five schools during its tour, which will culminate in a visit to the Pier Arts Centre in Stromness where it will be open to members of the public to take part; acknowledges that the custom-built van will be equipped with state of the art creative tools and materials and will be accompanied by a team who will deliver free workshops that offer training and mentoring opportunities to students; believes that this exciting and engaging format well help to inspire the next generation of artists and allow students to explore their creative potential while also having fun and learning about new ideas; recognises the importance of giving young people opportunities to access these experiences; considers that it provides a valuable insight into the possibilities of pursuing avenues in the creative industries and will help to further their artistic skills; commends Craig Barrowman and the rest of the team at Gray’s Art School on developing this fantastic initiative, and wishes them the very best for their visit to Orkney and future tours across the rest of Scotland.
