The UK Government’s amendments provide for the setting up of a new arm’s-length body called the infected blood compensation authority, which will deliver the infected blood compensation scheme.
In my statement, I said that, when the latest statistics were published, I recognised that more should have been done, and I will not shy away from that.

There will be further tours to Aberdeen, Banff, Glasgow, Perth and Inverness and NGS will also travel to Dundee, Stornoway, Thurso, Fort William and Helmsdale in 2010 with its latest exhibitions. I welcome the minister’s positive response.
That is very much in our minds and will influence the discussion of the framework paper as we go forward. We are not all news junkies; people do not watch the news all the time, and some people have switched off from watching the news, which is understandable.
I am sure that the member recognised during his visit that a key part of the programme is the evaluation of the link worker role to see how link workers can be used most effectively.
In addition, the paper includes an update on the Brussels visit that took place in December 2012, which involved the European rapporteurs from across the Parliament’s committees.The paper highlights proposals in four policy areas that continue to be priorities for the committee—public procurement, water resources, broadband infrastructure and state aid.
