The mast must simply be allowed to rust and fall to pieces.That is a serious concern, because we are talking about equipment that was installed some years ago. It was not state of the art, compared with the equipment that is being installed now.
A while back, I read in the newspaper that the cost of parking and office accommodation in the central belt is extortionate compared to Dumfries and Galloway. We own the office in Dumfries, where there are no overheads.
We have argued—probably since 1931—for an approach that would allow the figures to be compared. We want comparable figures; however, until all the health boards collect their figures in the same way and are willing to share that information with other agencies, that will not happen.
