That area should be diminishing, and confidentiality should be the exception, not the rule. I agree with Michael Matheson and Jackie Baillie about that.
I have seen the minister's letter, which I think clarifies that matter.The second exception is the matter that I raised with the minister at the Justice 2 Committee.
We further agreed that the Public Petitions Committee accepts the decisions made by other committees, except in exceptional circumstances. I think that we are prepared to concede that—at this time of day.
The aims were to identify options by looking at what happens in other countries and to draw out comparative lessons and consider how they might be applied to Scotland.
