These include: • Black women in the UK are 3x more likely to die in pregnancy and childbirth, Asian and mixed-race women 1.7x more likely to die than white women. • Babies of both Asian and Black ethnicity or those from deprived areas have much higher rates of neonatal mortality. • Women who do not speak English are 25% more likely to die in pregnancy, birth, or the postnatal period.
