In accordance with the provisions of the Water Industry Act 1999, I announced on 26 January the Executive's decisions on the framework for water and sewerage charges in the light of the Water Industry Commissioner's advice, received in December 1999.
In the longer term, we as a nation face the prospects of paying premium prices for shipbuilding and ship repairs, and of the export of valuable capital from Scotland.
First, section 26(6) of the 1997 act will include within the meaning of "development" fish farms in coastal and transitional waters, as defined in the bill.
I welcome the opportunity to plug the consultation, which closes on 26 February, and I invite people to respond because their comments will help us to shape the bill.
