This includes £6m for the most directly affected businesses in the tourism sector including inbound tour operators, day tour operators, coach operators, hostels, visitorattractions and marine/outdoor.
The interesting thing is that the health board does not boast about that or take the credit for it. It should be taking the credit for it, but it does not want to, probably because it is a bit wary about whether it will be able to sustain that into future generations.
It is true that that is an issue, and perhaps it has two aspects. There is the on-site shop and families and visitors bringing items in, and there is availability of and participation in activities on site.
If they are in the know, they know, but if they are not in the know, it is hard to get the message across. We have heard evidence that the future of construction will not necessarily be on site, because the big improvements and developments are in factory construction and design.
“Sensitive areas” are defined as: (a) National Nature Reserves or Sites of Special Scientific Interest; (b) National Parks; (c) World Heritage Sites; (d) Scheduled Ancient Monuments; (e) Areas of Outstanding National Beauty; (f) Natural Heritage of National Scenic Areas; (g) A site designated as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) or identified as a candidate SAC, and (h) A site classified or proposed as a Special Protection Area.
As I said, one problem occurred in one pour out of several hundred. The matter was dealt with quickly and effectively, and there was no risk to the personnel on the site.
