Let me first give these facts: a record number of young people secured places at university in this latest Universities and Colleges Admissions Service cycle, and a record number of 18-year-old Scots have secured a university place.
I urge people to pay a visit to Summerlee if they can. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this year’s commemoration event at the weekend, but I commend North Lanarkshire trade union council for organising it and I wish it all the best for the event.
