Mitigating the two child cap
One of the top headlines from the Budget was the Scottish Government’s announcement that it intends to mitigate the impact of the UK government’s two child benefit cap.
Through its scrutiny of new vessels for the Clyde and Hebrides, the Committee has secured the publication of all occasions where Written Authority has been sought since 1999 on the Scottish Government’s website, to improve openness and transparency in this area.
One way of fulfilling that duty is for data controllers to add a Privacy Notice to their website setting out the required information (it is not necessary to seek consent from each individual whose personal data is processed, unless the legal basis relied upon is consent).
This could include details of the relevant Scottish Government website where links to the instrument, including where relevant any consolidated version of the instrument it amends, as well as any associated guidance, can be found.
