The estimated financial impact of introducing tariffs will be relatively low compared to the total resources of NHS boards (i.e. less than 1% across NHSScotland) but boards with a negative financial impact may seek to have the application of the tariff reduced if it believes that has a disproportionate impact on their overall budget.

The 1996-97 figures have been excluded, as prior to 1997-98, allocations were issued on a gross basis, which took into account capital receipts and they are not therefore comparable with later years. The table relates only to mainstream HRA allocations.2.
It is different for Asian women compared with the mainstream public. You mentioned plea bargaining, or plea negotiation as it is more euphemistically called.
The data in the paper reflect our choice of Parliaments from around the world that seemed comparable by size, basic make-up and structure—we wanted as much comparability as possible.
Margaret Ewing referred to item 1 on the report, which is the proposed committee visit to Brussels on 20 and 21 March.I reiterate that the earlier we can sort out the visit, the better will be the meetings that we arrange and the less the visit is likely to cost.
