I said a few seconds ago that the CPPR has forecast a reduction in public spending of 11 per cent. That is the top of the range that it has forecast; its median forecast is that the Scottish budget figure could be 8.5 per cent lower—that is, £2.5 billion lower in real terms—than it was in 2009-10 by the year 2013-14.
