Amendment 5 would remove the whole of section 13 and replace the measures with an outright ban on the manufacture, sale, possession and use of snares in Scotland. It includes limited exceptions to ensure that no one is unfairly prosecuted for being in possession of a snare for an innocent reason.
The Alloa project is in my patch, so I know a bit about it, and Richard Simpson would be able to tell you more. We could conduct a series of visits to compare the way in which the projects operate.
However, it is not yet possible to assess either of those measures because neither of them is in place.Next week, I will visit the 218 hostel in Glasgow. The convener has already visited it, but I have not and I am looking forward to the visit.
Obviously quite a lot of the consequentials arise from comparable expenditure and what we are allowed to apply the multiplier to, which takes us back to the question of when we will examine the Barnett formula in detail.
As a man who has experienced the industry in both the south-west and the north-east, will you compare the environments in those two areas—not only in the dairy industry, which might not be the ideal comparator, but in the farming industry in general?
Obviously, that framework will be based largely on the McIntosh report, but there might be a series of key questions that we want to ask all the bodies that we visit to ensure a degree of comparability between the reports.
