Follow-up inquiry into salmon farming in Scotland - Causes of mortality
Scottish Sea Farms highlighted the impact of La Niña over recent years, followed by El Niño in 2023, which has created new problems for the industry such as the influx of micro-jellyfish (which can cause mortality through their harmful effects on gill health) in Scotland in 2022.
