I take on board what Rob Gibson said about the future and where the industry is going, but our top priority at the moment is to protect what we have got.
People tend to fall into rather rigid positions, which they promote abroad. On top of that, there is the way in which all these various things go together.
They build up debts that are very difficult for them to pay off until their benefits are restored, and even when that happens it is very difficult for them to pay off those debts, on top of everything else, given their low level of income.
I also understand that, under the same agenda, individuals are able to buy their own care from private sector companies or, indeed, individuals who wish to be employed to provide a particular service.
In that context, I can see the purpose—albeit this is rather anomalous, and we have said that this is like having a Rolls-Royce for the job—of bringing in somebody from the top who can attempt to impose an overall direction on the system, and to have a senator.
