Have you done any comparison with the private sector and considered the percentage of people who are employed in it who are in final salary schemes? We did not directly compare the numbers. We have not made a comparison against final salary schemes, but paragraph 12 on pages 6 and 7 of the report states:“Around 500,000 current employees are active members of one of the six main schemes in Scotland, which is around 85 per cent of the public sector workforce.”That compares with only 35 per cent of the private sector workforce who are currently in pension schemes.
