Construction and procurement of ferry vessels in Scotland - Community impact of new vessels delays
Submissions from a variety of local community stakeholders have highlighted the multiple impacts on island communities of delays to delivery of vessels 801 and 802, both directly on the routes these vessels are destined to serve but also indirectly in terms of reducing resilience of the Clyde and Hebrides network as a whole. Concerns have also been widely expressed regarding the knock-on impact the increased cost of delivering vessels 801 and 802 might have on future Scottish Government investment elsewhere on the ferries network.
