It is inevitable that when a new body is being set up many of the representations to the committee are about who will be on that body and who will be chair. This is no exception. For example, the Law Society of Scotland suggested that the representation of the solicitor branch of the profession is being considerably reduced compared with its input to the current rules councils, which are being absorbed into the new council.Other bodies, such as Scottish Women’s Aid, suggest that there is insufficient representation, from a user standpoint, of people involved in family law issues—obviously abuse may be a part of that.
