In my region of Glasgow, Drumchapel Community Credit Union provides short-term loans to more than 3,000 registered customers in the local area, with an APR of between 15 and 26 per cent. Drumchapel Community Credit Union was the very first to be established in Scotland.

The Community Care (Personal Care and Nursing Care) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2026 [draft] - Health, Social Care and Sport Committee consideration
The Minister concluded that, according to the latest available officials statistics, there were 10,920 self-funding residents aged 18 and above in receipt of free personal nursing care payments in 2024-25 and that these residents should all benefit from these changes.
