Supported by: Joan McAlpine*, Miles Briggs*, Bill Kidd*, Maureen Watt*, Sandra White*, Keith Brown*, Angela Constance*, Bruce Crawford* *S5M-15710 Stuart McMillan: Inverclyde Ceilidh Band Tours Pakistan That the Parliament — recognises that the Inverclyde ceilidh band, Reely Jiggered, featuring the sisters, Alison and Fiona McNeil, and their cousin, Scott McLean, spent a week visiting and performing in the Pakistani cities of Lahore, Sialkot and the capital, Islamabad; understands that this was the second year in a row that the band was invited to Pakistan by the British High Commissioner, primarily to play a fundraising Burns supper on 26 January 2019, with proceeds going to a deaf school in Karachi; notes that the band was also invited to perform at schools, handed out Scottish Government- backed university scholarships for underprivileged girls, visited a factory that manufactures instruments, including bagpipes, and was interviewed live on national TV; believes that trips such as this help enhance links between Scotland and Pakistan and promote Scottish culture overseas, and wishes the band all the best for the future.
